After launching eWord, the BlackBerry® screen will look as shown in the picture.
The main elements of the program window are:
- Title row with the name of the current file
- Toolbar with buttons to run different commands
- Row to select and indicate font style and text alignment
- Row to select font color, type and size
- Ruler for media measurement
- Document data area to enter text
- Scrollbar to indicate viewpoint position and quickly scroll the document
To change the focus between the document, the toolbar and the scrollbar, hold down the ALT button and click the wheel.
You can move the cursor in the document data area by rolling the wheel (hold down the ALT button while rolling the wheel for horizontal movement). When the cursor reaches the end of the visible area while the document is just opened and not yet loaded completely, you may scroll down beyond the visible bottom of the document to load the next part into memory. In this case you will see the corresponding changes in scrollbar position.
You can also scroll by focusing the scroll bar and rolling the wheel.
To change the focus between the document, the toolbar and the scrollbar select “Focus” from the main menu. Alternatively you may hold down the ALT button and click the wheel.
To find text in the document, use the FIND button on the toolbar, or Edit?Find on the main menu.
