eOffice for Touch NEW!      |       eSpell       |     eFile Pro     |     eWorks Pro     |     eWorks     |     eZcase     |     eFile

After launching eCell, the BlackBerry® screen will look as shown on the picture below.

The main elements of the program window are:

  • Title row with the name of the current file.
  • Toolbar with buttons to run different commands.
  • Cell data area to enter data and formulas.
  • Table with cells where data is displayed.
  • Table cursor – a bold frame that can be moved using the roller wheel; when in “Cell select” mode, the cursor advances to the selected area.
  • Row and Column labels
  • Sheet Tabs – 3 sheets are included by default and an unlimited number can be added.

Immediately after opening a spreadsheet, the cursor is positioned in cell A1 of the cell table. You can move the cursor between cells by rolling the wheel (hold down the ALT button while rolling the wheel for horizontal movement). When the cursor reaches the end of the visible area, the cell table scrolls to present cells in the scrolling direction.

All operations in eCell are initiated either through a drop-down menu or through the toolbar buttons. To access the menu, click the roller wheel while standing on any cell. The menu has two sections: a top section with plus or minus signs next to the items, and a bottom section with submenu commands. Clicking on any top item with ‘+’ next to it will expand the submenu commands for that item in the bottom section. Clicking on the submenu command will execute the selected action.

To access the toolbar, invoke the menu and select Focus?Toolbar. You will see the most recently used icon inversed. Move between the toolbar buttons by rolling the wheel and execute an action by clicking the wheel.

To switch between sheets, invoke the menu and select Focus?Sheets. The two triangle icon will appear in the bottom left corner and you will be able to move between sheets by rolling the wheel. Click the wheel on the selected sheet to move to the cell table area.

To enter cell data area, move the cursor onto the desired cell and press ENTER. The content of the cell will be preserved and the focus will move to the cell data area. To leave the cell data area without saving the changes press the ESCAPE button below the roller.
