To install eCell, download the installation distribution from http://www.dynoplex.com. Please note the version of the operating system on your device and download the correct installation for that version.
Run the installation script and follow the prompts to select the location of the program and other options. The installation script will create a shortcut to the eCell Document Converter on your desktop and a program group to launch the eCell Document Converter and other programs. It will also add the BlackBerry® files to the BlackBerry® Application Loader, so that eCell can be installed on the device.
When the installation script completes, start the BlackBerry® Desktop Manager and double-click on the Application Loader icon. eOffice and eCell lines will appear in the list of programs to be installed on the device. If these lines contain an unchecked box next to the program name, check this box to make sure the application is installed properly. Click “Next” and follow the prompts of the Application Loader to complete eCell installation.
Note: Some versions of Application Loader do not detect new software automatically. If after completing the installation, you do not see lines for eCell and eOffice in the list of applications, add the application files manually. The files are located either in the directory where eCell is installed by the installation script or in “\Program Files\Research In Motion\Blackberry\Loader Files”. For Blackberry Desktop version 3.5 select *.alx file and for 2.5 and earlier - .ali.
Note: If the version of handheld OS installed on your device is newer than the same files located on your PC, the AppLoader will not see any applications installed on the device. Instead of the list of applications installed on the device AppLoader upon connect will show grayed text "No system software found". This is not an eCell problem and unless you correct it, it will not allow you to load any applications on your device. In order to solve this problem you need to download from your provider and install on your PC the most recent handheld OS code in addition to the Desktop Manager code.
